GFGL FIT BLOG: Going Through the Paces

I did nine miles today at what I hope to be my race pace, which I’ve decided will be just over a 10-minute mile. Not for any real reason, just never really tried to do any long distance consciously at a specific pace. I also ran three miles yesterday at way faster than my race pace, also just to see if I could. For the record, a super fast three miles for me is done at a pace over just under an 8-minute mile, which I know is not real fast but for me it is kind of a big deal. No other real new, except that I’m researching new trails to run and hopefully, if the great weather here holds, I can get out in some mud in the next week. I also realized I’ve lost nine pounds since I started seriously training in January. Weight loss was never really my goal when I started running, but it’s a pretty nice surprise, nonetheless.
